In a startling and unexpected twist, the ongoing investigation into the tragic death of South African football player Senzo Meyiwa has taken a confusing turn with the testimony of a traditional healer, known as a sangoma. The inclusion of the sangoma, identified as Zwane, has injected new complexity into an already convoluted case, leaving more questions than answers in its wake.

The state calls Mr Lion Robert Zwane.

He says he works with people.

"I help people," he says.

Baloyi: Do you know the accused?

Zwane: I recognise Sibiya. #SABCNews #SenzoMeyiwatrial #SenzoMeyiwa

Zwane took the stand to share his account, shedding light on his involvement, which appears to be linked to an enigmatic figure named Sibiya. Sibiya’s role in Senzo Meyiwa’s demise remains shrouded in mystery, further complicating the investigation. Zwane revealed, “I’ve only seen this Sibiya once, and he came back when they were having issues related to work.” However, he remained uncertain about Sibiya’s true identity.

Zwane went on to explain that Sibiya and two others had sought his assistance for traditional cleansing, with Sibiya specifically seeking his aid in job-related matters. Zwane complied, conducting a cleansing ritual for them.

This revelation surrounding a cleansing rite and Sibiya’s involvement has added a new layer of intrigue to the already perplexing case of Senzo Meyiwa’s untimely demise. Just as investigators and the public grapple with the implications of Zwane’s testimony, the investigation has taken an unforeseen turn, leaving many anxiously awaiting further developments in this unfolding saga.
