Edson Castillo breaks silence after joining Kaizer Chiefs

Venezuelan footballer Edson Castillo who primarily plays as a central midfielder has broken his silence after joining Kaizer Chiefs.

The Kaizer Chiefs new jersey number 17 was one of the signings who were officially unveiled at the Naturena based outfit almost two weeks ago.

What’s the story?

On Sunday, Kaizer Chiefs new signing Edson Castillo who put pen to paper on a two year contract with an option of a one year extension after partying ways with his home side Monaga SC took to his Instagram account where he broke his silence after joining the Phefeni Glamour Boys.

“I’m very excited to start this new chapter in my football career with a club like @kcfcofficial. I want to thank them for the welcome they have given me from the first moment I arrived in this great city”.

“I would also like to thank everyone who has supported me in this process including the club’s board, coaching staff and my representatives, @asgsportsagency. I will give my all to achieve the goals we have set ourselves as a club and of course win many titles for this great club”.

Did you know?

Kaizer Chiefs new signing Edson Castillo who is one of the few players from his native country including retired footballer Jose Torrealba who ever donned the famous gold and black jersey of the club has earned a few caps in the national team setup of Venezuela.

According to his player profile on German website 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘬𝘵, the 29 year old Puerto Ordaz born footballer has earned 6 international caps in the national team setup of Venezuela and has rattled the back of the net only once.
