Former President Jacob Zuma received a 15-month prison term in 2021 for refusing to appear before the Zondo Commission, where he was supposed to testify. After spending three months in jail, Jacob Zuma was released on parole. Zuma received a release from Arthur Fraser of the Commission of Correctional Services.

The nicest court has decided that Jacob Zuma must return to prison and serve the final 15 months of his term. It seems possible that Jacob Zuma could be sent back to jail after the court ruled that the main application was dismissed because it had little chance of success. The court reportedly rejected the department’s main application, the source claims. Additionally, it rejected Jacob Zuma’s legal team’s application to intervene.

The DA claims it is pleased with today’s Concourt decision and maintains that former President Jacob Zuma must be sent back to prison to complete his term. The party claimed that its attorneys are presently writing a letter to Zuma demanding that he voluntarily turn himself in for arrest within a reasonable amount of time. If he fails, it will request that the director of Correctional Services frogmarches him to his cell in the KwaZulu-Natal prison Estcourt.
