A married man has been jailed two 28 years in prison after she chose to also get married.

The couple shared two children together.

It is alleged that 33 year old Justus Mbirimujo strangled his girlfriend Kauaa Karuuombe (29) after she chose to tie the knot with another man.

His girlfriend Karuuombe was also a police officer and she was based in the Namibian capital city of Windhoek.

In passing sentence, judge Christi Liebenberg noted that the convict did not give any valid reasons as to why he commited the offence.

“In this instance, the convict did not advance any reason as to the motive for the killing, besides stating in his plea explanation that he and the deceased had an argument on their way home, during which she swore at him and insulted him. When they reached home, a scuffle ensued, during which he pressed her down and strangled her to death,” the judge said.

She added that the crime was committed in full view of the children and this is staying which will most likely traumatize them for life.

The judge also noted that the severity of the crime had been considered when deciding the verdict.

Liebenberg said an inescapable consequence of Mbirimujo’s actions is that the deceased’s four minor children are robbed of the love and care of a mother, and as for his own children, they in addition will be without a father for years to come.

It is truly indeed a sad case which just proves that the things done men do deprives children of experiencing the love of both parents.
