South Africans are so fed up with the ruling party in the country. Community members are as a result dealing very harshly with ANC officials who are currently on a campaign trail as the next elections approach. Residents don’t want to give the officials any chance of feeding them with more empty promises, they chase them away and it is so embarrassing.
Just yesterday, Gregory Nthatisi, acting Mangaung Mayor and ANC Free State PEC member, was chased away by the Wepener community. The Mayor rocked up at the community in a Range Rover and community members ordered him to “take his fancy car and leave”.
The community is dissatisfied with the ANC’s decision to fire eight councillors, including Wepener’s Puseletso Seleke, who was kicked out of the party. It is alleged that the ANC is attempting to force the community to vote for a ward candidate in the upcoming by-elections.
The residents are also complaining about poor service delivery in the area. All officials do is to be driven around in fancy cars while neglecting the needs of communities. This needs to stop and the only way is when community stand up for themselves!
In the other news, members of ANC in Mangaung booed and threw water bottles at their leadership while singing “Wenzeni Ace.” This comes after The Secretary General of the ANC, Ace Magashule was expelled from the Liberation.
