EFF leader Julius Malema says he’s in talks with former ANC secretary-general Ace Magashule, was expelled from the ruling party recently, about joining the EFF. The recent expulsion of Magashule has sparked interest from the red berets.

Malema confirmed that his party is in talks with Magashule about a potential move to the red berets. This news comes after the ANC announced Magashule’s official expulsion on Monday.

Magashule’s departure from the ANC has caused a stir in South African politics, as the former secretary-general of the ruling party, his move to the EFF would be a significant blow to the ANC.

Malema’s confirmation of talks with Magashule has added fuel to the fire, with many speculating about the potential impact on the upcoming government elections in 2024. The EFF has been gaining momentum in recent years, and a high-profile defection from the ANC would only strengthen their position.

It remains to be seen whether Magashule will make the move, but the talks between him and the EFF are certainly worth keeping an eye on.

Malema has joined at the opportunity to try and lure Magashule to the red berets, in an attempt to woo and take advantage of the situation ahead at the 2024 national elections.

Magashule was expelled from the ANC on 14 June following his failure to submit reasons why he shouldn’t be ousted from the ANC on 14 June following his failure to submit reasons why he shouldn’t be ousted from the organization he joined in 1977.

That came on the back Magashule’s suspension as the ANC secretary-general which somehow left the party divided. He was found guilty of bringing the party into disrepute after illegally attempted to suspend president Cyril Ramaphosa.
