Zandi Khumalo, who is the sister of Kelly Khumalo who was dating Senzo Meyiwa at the time of his death, has hit out that she will not put her life on hold because of the ongoing trial.
Khumalo was speaking after the release of her new song. She is the latest witness to have testified at the Senzo Meyiwa trial, narrating how the former footballer was shot by intruders and later died in hospital.
According to the testimony given in court by Zandile Khumalo, the intruders who came into their family house where Senzo Meyiwa was, demanded for cellphones and money. It appears as if the footballer was shot in the scuffle before the suspects ran away.
During her testimony also, she managed to point at one of the suspects saying he is indeed one of the intruders who entered their family home on the fatal day. Social critics, however, have been arguing that the testimony given by Zandile Khumalo had a lot of loopholes.
Critics said at first, she says she did not see the faces of the intruders when they came into their home, but she later in court pointed at one of the accused saying she recognised him. Zandi Khumalo has now hit out at the critics saying she will not put her life on hold because of the Senzo Meyiwa trial.
Zandi Khumalo said there is not a day that passes and she does not think about what happened to Senzo Meyiwa. She said, her new song has been influenced greatly by what is happening around her and the ongoing trial.
It seems that Khumalo is using music to deal with this issue better. She said what bothers her a lot is that people are taking this Senzo Meyiwa trial as just amusement.
” People will just say whatever they want to say, whenever they want to say it. They are making jokes and laughing about it. You can actually see that there is no need for what they are doing,” she said.
Musician Zandie Khumalo says she will not put her life on hold because of the media frenzy caused by the Senzo Meyiwa trial. She has just released a new song, ‘Amatshe’.
