A ginger turmeric tonic or cleanse can offer significant health benefits. Ginger and turmeric have powerful antioxidants that reduce free radicals. They also reduce inflammation and relieve stomach discomfort or digestive problems.

Also, people have used ginger and turmeric in herbal remedies for centuries to prevent respiratory diseases. As you can see, these two roots can improve health and prevent disease. Together they form a truly effective natural remedy. Below, we explain the benefits of this cleaning and tell you how to do it at home.

Powerful Ginger Turmeric Detoxes Inflammation:

Ingredients:

2 cups of water

2 teaspoons ground organic turmeric

1/2 teaspoon ground organic ginger (or grated if you’re patient)

1 teaspoon cinnamon

Juice of 1/2 lemon

1 pinch cayenne or black pepper (helps ginger and turmeric absorb)

1 tablespoon raw honey (optional)

Instructions:

Boil water and add turmeric, pepper, ginger and cinnamon. Bring to a boil and let cool for about 10-15 minutes.

Strain the syrup into a small heatproof bowl.

Then, in another bowl, mix the lemon juice and possibly the honey. Once fully mixed, add to the ginger and turmeric mixture. If needed, you can add more water to increase servings.

Allow the liquid to cool to room temperature.

You can serve it cold with ice or as a hot tea if you prefer. As a bonus, you can slice the lemon to add even more spice and flavor!

Store leftover in an airtight container for up to two weeks.

How Turmeric and Ginger Tea Fight Inflammation:

Not all inflammation leads to disease in the body. In fact, as part of our natural defense system, we need a lot of inflammation. Inflammation occurs when the immune system sends out white blood cells to fight an infection or heal an injury. In general, acute inflammation does not cause long-term damage and protects the body from disease.

However, chronic inflammation caused by stress, environmental toxins, or autoimmune diseases can wreak havoc on the body. Research shows that persistent inflammation can lead to diseases like cancer, stroke, heart disease and diabetes. It can also cause arthritis, asthma, obesity, dementia, and other serious imbalances in the body.
