Russia has sent a note to NATO countries regarding the delivery of weapons to Ukraine. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov pointed out that any cargo containing weapons for Ukraine will become a legitimate target for Russia. On the other side USA have accused South Africa of sending weapons to Russia through lady E ship that docked in South Africa from Russia. Now South Africa is panicking because of the repercussions that can come with being aligned to Russia. The Rand is losing value. South Africa fears the consequences that might come with that.

The ANC says Russia should not feel humiliated should South Africa take a decision that its president, Vladimir Putin, should not attend the Brics summit because of the international arrest warrant issued against him.

They are right, we shouldn’t entangle ourselves in conflicts that aren’t ours. If Putin had any sense in the first place, he would consider South Africa’s position and not come.
