WAR| ANC Secretary General Fikile Mbalula VS ANC Deputy Secretary Mokonyane

Last year in December, the African National Congress held its 55th national conference. It wasn’t an easy conference since it was highly contested.

The delegates whom were counted in thousands from all African National Congress branches around the Republic of South Africa took a resolution of changing from electing top six leaders to top seven with an addition of second deputy Secretary-general.

The former minister of roads and transport Fikile Mbalula got elected as the African National Congress Secretary General and then former minister of communication Mokonyane as the first Deputy Secretary General and ANC 2nd Deputy Secretary-General Maropene Ramokgopa.

Both deputies were elected to empower the office of the secretary and help the African National Congress Secretary General Fikile Mbalula.

Now the African National Congress Secretary General Fikile Mbalula is being accused of centralizing the office of the Secretary General in the expense of the 1st Deputy Secretary General Mokonyane. The two are now fighting over power at Luthuli House.
