We might have overlooked the flamboyant and stylist teacher, Lulu Menziwa’s controversial dress code to work, but now she is doing too much. Menziwa’s latest outfit that is making rounds on social media left people shocked and complaining. It seems like the social media hype made things worse and the teacher is enjoying the attention and critics.

However, on the latest post on Instagram, she closed the comment section. This is raising an alarm that Menziwa is aware of her “inappropriate” dress code in a school environment. What is it that she doesn’t want to hear from the people saying about her work outfit. Going through her Instagram account, there are pictures worse that what people are complaining about, but at least that is done during her private time, hopefully.

“I honestly don’t understand why a teacher thinks it is acceptable to dress this way at school.” One social media user said as she shared Menziwa’s picture of the questionable dress code.

It is unbelievable to believe that the picture is really of a teacher at work until you see the background. Then you look closely and see learners behind her. She is a teacher, well known for dressing in this manner at school.

While there is an outrage about Menziwa’s dress code on social media, people have questioned parental involvement and responsibility at her school. “But what does the SGB say about this? I’m actually worried about what she would be teaching those poor kids. Their parents should be worried too.” Phathigadi said.

Her dress code also raises a concern about the kind of girls she is molding at school. If teachers are dressed like this, what about the girls at that school? What kind of influence and motivation is she passing to the learners?

Some people have questioned the stance of authorities regarding her case since she has been trending and condemned for her outfits. “She has been wearing like this for quite some time now. I’m surprised the principal and the department still permit of it.”

Unfortunately, it looks like teachers do not have a dress code. Apparently, they are only expected to be dressed presentable. And then, being presentable depends on many subjective aspects. In this regard, an intervention is needed to guide but not control how teachers should be dressed.
