Renowned South African music producer and DJ, DJ Maphorisa, was arrested on allegations of assaulting his girlfriend and former Generations actor, Thuli Phongolo. The incident, which reportedly occurred at a gig they both attended, was brought to light after Phongolo lodged a complaint at the Sandton Police Station. Although the cause of the argument leading to the alleged assault is still unknown, sources indicate that the couple has been having relationship issues.

Following the complaint, DJ Maphorisa was apprehended and is expected to appear in court this morning at Randburg Magistrate court. This is not the first time the music producer has found himself in trouble with the law, as he was previously arrested for contravening COVID-19 regulations by hosting a party. Assault is a serious offense that should never be taken lightly. It is unacceptable for anyone to use violence or force to settle disputes, especially in a relationship.

Assault often has long-lasting physical and emotional effects on the victim, and it is a violation of their human rights. It is essential for society to stand together against such behavior and hold perpetrators accountable for their actions.

Many South Africans women have lost their lives to Domestic violence, thank God Thuli Phongolo spoke out. Domestic violence is a prevalent issue globally, and it’s critical to seek help if you or someone you know is a victim of abuse.

If you find yourself in an abusive relationship, please reach out to your local authorities or support organizations for assistance.
