TV star Minnie Dlamini has taken legal action against podcast hosts MacGyver “MacG” Mukwevho and Sol Phenduka, filing a R2.5 million lawsuit in the Equality Court. She accuses them of hate speech, harassment, and gender-based discrimination following controversial remarks made on their show, *Podcast and Chill*.

The dispute stems from comments made by MacG, who speculated about Dlamini’s personal life, suggesting her past relationships may have failed due to hygiene issues. Dlamini called the statements dehumanizing and harmful to her reputation.

In her lawsuit, she is demanding R1 million in damages for emotional distress and an additional R1.5 million to be donated to a women’s rights organization.

The government has also weighed in, with Deputy Minister Mmapaseka Steve Letsike condemning the remarks as gender-based violence and referring the matter to human rights groups for further review.

Dlamini has refused to accept MacG’s public apology, insisting that legal action is necessary to ensure accountability. This case follows years of alleged harassment from the podcast, which she says worsened after she publicly supported actress Amanda du-Pont in a separate gender-based violence matter.

As the case proceeds, it has sparked broader discussions about misogyny, accountability in media, and the treatment of women in the public eye.
