Cyril Matamela Ramaphosa, President of the Republic of South Africa and the African National Congress, was going to present Chicco Twala with a National Order. However, Twala passed away before the ceremony could take place.

Chicco Twala asserts that he was meant to receive a National Order from Cyril Matamela Ramaphosa, President of the Republic of South Africa and African National Congress, but that his name was removed from the list. Chicco Twala is a member of the African National Congress.

The President of a nation bestows national orders, which are the highest honours that a country can bestow, both on its own inhabitants and on notable people from other countries.

Cyril Matamela Ramaphosa, President of the Republic of South Africa and the African National Congress, has bestowed national orders on thirty-two South African individuals and prominent foreign nationals in recognition of their significant contributions to the betterment of the lives of South Africans.

Not only Chicco Twala, but also the boss of Muvhango, Duma Ndlovu, was taken off the list and withdrawn from consideration. Since Chicco Twala was the first person that Kelly Khumalo contacted in regard to the case of Senzo Meyiwa, he has been accused of covering things up or concealing information on the case.
