As the CAF Champions League group fixtures draw closer, football fans are eagerly anticipating the matchup between Al Ahly and Sundowns. Both teams have been performing exceptionally well in their respective leagues.
However, there have been some concerns regarding Sundowns’ recent performance, with the team drawing their last two games. This has raised questions about the team’s coach, Rhulani Mokwena.

football analyst Junior Kanye has come out publicly to express his concern about Rhulani’s decisions, particularly when it comes to selecting the starting lineup lately. Although he acknowledges Rhulani’s great run since taking over as the head coach of Sundowns, he believes that the coach needs to make some changes.
One of the issues that Junior has raised is the absence of former multi-award-winning player Andile Jali from the team.

Jali’s agent has revealed that the player is not training with the team and is still waiting for feedback from the management. Junior questions why an ex-PSL midfielder of the season is not playing while players like Mbule are given the chance to play despite both players being mentioned in an alcohol abuse scandal.

Sundowns’ recent draw with Stellenbosch FC has also raised some concerns.
Junior is adamant that Rhulani is getting arrogant hence strings of draws,he is not listening to the advices of other coaches like Manqoba and Steve Kompela.

Junior believes that Rhulani needs to humble himself and start including good players in the starting eleven. Players who deserve to play. Jali can still contribute significantly to the team’s success.

Despite these concerns, Rhulani is still a great coach. He has had an impressive run since taking over as Sundowns’ head coach, and his contribution to the team’s success cannot be ignored.

However as Sundowns prepares to face Al Ahly in the CAF Champions League group fixture, the team must be at its best. Rhulani needs to ensure that he selects the best starting lineup and makes changes where necessary to ensure that the team performs to its full potential.
