Residents of an East London suburb of Stirling watched from their homes as police combed the crime scene — a small green park along Roslin Road.

They said they were terrified as the murder followed a number of criminal incidents in the neighbourhood.

The deceased was found stabbed, with multiple wounds to his neck, head, shoulders as well as other parts of his body, in his white Ford Figo.

His body was discovered by a private security guard from Broubart Security, patrolling in the area in the morning.

They deceased’s car windows were smashed on both sides, while the driver’s seat was covered with blood and the bloodstains were evident on the outside of his car.

The manager of Broubart Security, Helen Wood, confirmed that one of their security guards had found the body and reported it to the police.

Wood said the case had been handed over to the police and the company would not comment due to its sensitivity.

A resident said they had heard a commotion coming from the park near their home after midnight.

“It sounded as though people were fighting. We heard him scream, ‘help, help’, but by the time we looked, it was quiet. The other person sped out in their car so fast,” they said.

The residents added that they had seen the white car park there almost every day recently.

“The man parks here under the tree nearly every day.

“He comes sometimes early in the morning, sometimes at lunch time but he is always here for a few hours, if not the whole day, and he just sits there,” she said, pointing to an area under a tree.

The resident said sometimes another vehicle would arrive and what appeared to be an exchange would take place before the new vehicle would leave.

According to the source, the interaction and exchange would not last for more than a minute.

Two security guards responsible for watching a house nearby in the neighbourhood said they had also heard a man crying for help.

Fearing for their safety, they did not go out and check.
