AKA is no more and the day of his burial is the one that will make people to really understand that the man is gone. He is not coming back at all. AKA has been laid to rest in a private ceremony and we know that the government of Gauteng tried to offer him a Provincial funeral but president Cyril Ramaphosa refused that he be granted a Provincial funeral.
But either way AKA had a dignified funeral whether it was a Provincial funeral or not. The man got a proper send off. The people got to celebrate his life at the memorial service on Friday and indeed it was a celebration at the end. We know that at first it was hard but at the end people came together as they were even dancing in celebrating his life. It was no longer a sober moment. We even saw DJ Zinhle and Nadia Kakai dancing together. Something not many can be able to do.
We know that many people would have wanted to see AKA’s funeral but could not because it was a private ceremony. However a motorcade could be seen and it was the one of sending him off. In one of those cars, AKA’s coffin could be seen and it became a reality for many people that AKA is gone and he is not coming back. Now people have to learn to live without him not being there. His family, his friends, his fans and the rest of South Africans have to live knowing that he is not coming back.
This is just how far South Africans can be able to see when it comes to the funeral of AKA. His body leaving his home in Bryanston Johannesburg. But we know that AKA has left a legacy behind, and it is now the responsibility of those behind to ensures that they keep it alive.
May His Soul Rest In Peace.
