The rate of crime in South Africa has reached a shocking height and the inefficiency of the SAPS is making matters worst. If someone as rich as Kiernan Forbes can be shot and killed in public, then no one is safe in this country.

Early this morning at around 00:45, police in Kwazakele were on patrol when they were approached by a woman reporting a shooting at a house in Nomjila Street. Upon arrival, it was discovered that four people had been killed (three women and one man) and several others were injured (the exact number is still being verified).

According to official SAPS report, suggest the victims (six women and five men) were at a party, drinking alcohol, when three unknown men approached and started shooting. The homeowner, a 28-year-old man, was among the fatalities.

A case for four counts of murder and seven counts of attempted murder has been opened at SAPS New Brighton. The motive for the crime is under investigation and no arrests have been made yet. The Provincial Organized Crime Investigation in Gqeberha is handling the case. Police are continuing their investigation.
