The relationships between football and the entertainment comes a long way. This is mainly because of the similarities of both industries, footballers are bound to interact with entertainers. South Africa is a football loving nation and this means that many of our celebrities are fans of the game. Social media has closed the gap and gave fans an opportunity to see these interactions in real time and participate in the conversation.

Paballo Mathapo is a vocalist that rose to fame through the Amapiano genre. Her debut single ‘isphithiphithi launched her into stardom back in 2021. She has since released a number of hits under the name, Pabi Cooper. She is also someone who is passionate about football. Pabi shared on different occasions that she aspired to be a referee, however she currently contributes to the game in a different capacity. She did work as a sportcaster for Supersport during the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

Pabi Cooper took to social media to show some love to Zakhele Lepasa. She wished the Orlando Pirates star a happy birthday on Tuesday. Lepasa turned 25 years old on the 3rd of January. There were a lot of messages shared on social media to the star.

Lepasa is one footballer who has good relations in the entertainment industry. He is cool with people like DJ Naves, Ntando Duma, Pabi Cooper and many others. He doesn’t shy away from engaging with his celebrity fans on social media. He is an example of the new age of footballers and how they go about life outside of the field.

Orlando Pirates will return to action against Cape Town City on Saturday. This is a side that has been struggling in the league this season, however it won’t be an easy game for the Bucaneers. Zakhele Lepasa will be expected to find his scoring boot after coming as a late sub in the loss against Mamelodi Sundowns.
