A school principal who repeatedly raped a grade 12 learner will have to wait a bit longer before he can apply for bail.
Mthatha chief magistrate Nozuko Mviko postponed his bail hearing after equipment in the court room failed to kick off.
The case was postponed to Wednesday for filing of heads of arguments and for judgement.
The pupil laid a rape charge against the principal last month in case that shook South Africa.
Magistrate Njongo Mabena had been handed the case but he recused himself on the basis that he knows the accused on a personal level.
Magistrate are not permitted to preside over the cases of people that they personally know.
The case has drawn a lot of media attention and sparked some debate.
This led to Mviko ruling that no recordings or cameras would be allowed into the court to help protect the victim.
The principal is a well known figure in the community and this has ignited mixed reactions.
