UKhozi FM radio presenter Nonhlanhla “Mroza” Buthelezi says she wants rural people, especially women, to be motivated and fight for education and success.
Mroza, originally from Dokodweni, Gingindlovu, said this yesterday when she graduated with a Postgraduate Diploma-Project Management from Regent Business School.
Mroza, who hosts the Vuka Africa Breakfast Show (VABS), said during the day that she used to look at the distance wearing a coat but wishing.
“It has always been my dream to wear a school uniform, and when I finished driving my brothers at school, I started. I am interested in the rural people because I am also from there, I want them to know that things can happen if you are willing, ” explained Mroza.
She said her studies were in line with her passion for community development. She thanked Khozi FM Station Manager, Sbongi Ngcobo, who saw her as passionate about empowering people, and encouraged her.
Mroza says it was her boss who put her in the Kilimanjaro climbing program, to raise funds to support poor rural people, especially young girls, who are afraid to go to school when the time comes for the month. Mroza said rural people should wake up and take it without fear of exposing themselves to rural areas, in order to inspire others.
SHe also described her work in radio and said that she had reached a level where it was not due to humility, and the learning of her colleagues. SHe thanked Ukhozi FM for giving her the opportunity and believing in her .
“I ask a lot and my colleagues know me, I even go to the media and ask how things are put. I believe the media is very careful, they often filter things when they go on air, ” Mroza said.
SHe also said that she is involved in agriculture and is busy with crops and has learned this from some of the more experienced farmers.
Meanwhile, Babheka Mthethwa and Mandla Magwaza, who had been suspended along with Mroza’s morning show, are back on the radio.
