Reports surfaced about his father, former South African president Jacob Zuma, being hospitalized and missing a party event, prompting MK Party Deputy President Duduzane Zuma to try to reassure supporters about his health.
Concerning the former president’s health, Duduzane stated that Jacob Zuma had apologized to the gathering’s attendees for his broken promise to attend. Due to the need for medical examinations, Duduzane’s father was reportedly disappointed that he could not be there.
Further, he voiced his disapproval of the way the media had reported and asked questions regarding Jacob Zuma’s health, claiming that this had cast doubt on his condition.
According to Duduzane, he was asked to apologize to the supporters who had anticipated seeing his father at the event after seeing him the day before.
In addition, he denied rumors that Jacob Zuma had fallen gravely ill or would stop appearing publicly, stating that Zuma was still politically engaged.
In speaking about the future, Duduzane was confident that his father would run for president of South Africa in 2029 as the MK Party candidate.
Additionally, he anticipated that the party, led by Jacob Zuma, would achieve a two-thirds majority on a national level.
Nevertheless, his comments symbolize the party’s aspirations for politics, and the result of the 2029 election is still up in the air.
