KwaZulu-Natal authorities issued a J50 warrant for Getsemane, chair of the Inanda Taxi Owners Association, on 2023 fraud and extortion charges. Officers tried to arrest him Monday, but he wasn’t home, and no capture has been reported despite some online rumors.
Getsemane, known for past clashes with Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant-General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi over taxi disputes, remains at large as police intensify their search in South Africa’s troubled minibus taxi sector.
