Zungu, known for steadying AmaZulu FC, kicked off his campaign in Johannesburg by honoring the late Jayden Adams, thanking past leaders like Danny Jordaan, and calling for a business-like approach to football with high-performance centers in every province and private funding for grassroots programs.
Backed by figures like Lucas Radebe and groups claiming majority regional support, he criticized SAFA’s constitutional issues amid allegations of threats to reform backers. Incumbent Jordaan, endorsed for a fourth term after guiding Bafana Bafana to 2026 World Cup qualification, faces this challenge as nominations close July 29 ahead of the September 12 congress.
