South African defender Mbekezeli Mbokazi has been linked with a possible move to Napoli, and his agent says the family would welcome talks with the Italian club.
The 20-year-old Chicago Fire player impressed at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he helped Bafana Bafana advance from their group. He joined the MLS side from Orlando Pirates in December and made his debut earlier this year.
His agent, Basia Michaels, told SoccerBeat that while Chicago Fire are not looking to sell, they would not stand in his way if a good offer came through. She added that reports from Italy had caused excitement and that they would consider any opportunity that helped his long-term growth in Europe.
A move to Napoli could be a major step for the young defender. Serie A is known for developing strong defenders, and the club’s training methods could help him improve further. He is expected to finish the current season with Chicago Fire before any potential transfer in the January window.
