”MK Party Has Never Had a Strong Secretary-General” Says Ndhlela as He Mentions Floyd Shivambu

Nhlamulo Ndhlela, a senior figure in the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party, has made a bold claim about the party’s leadership. He says the MK Party has never had a secretary-general who was truly capable of leading the organisation since it was formed.

Ndhlela did not hold back in his assessment. He made it clear that this includes Floyd Shivambu, who also served as secretary-general of the party at one point. According to Ndhlela, none of the people who held the position had what it took to steer the party in the right direction.

The MK Party was launched in December 2023 by former president Jacob Zuma. It quickly became one of the most talked-about political movements in South Africa. However, it has also faced internal challenges, including leadership disputes and disagreements over the direction of the party.

Ndhlela’s comments add to the growing concerns about how the MK Party is being run. Some members have previously raised questions about the stability of the party’s leadership structure. The role of secretary-general is one of the most important positions in any political party. It is responsible for the day-to-day running of the organisation and making sure that decisions are carried out properly.

Political analysts say that if Ndhlela’s claims are true, it could explain some of the problems the party has faced since its launch. A weak secretary-general can lead to confusion, poor communication, and a lack of direction within the party.

Neither Floyd Shivambu nor the current leadership of the MK Party has responded to Ndhlela’s remarks at this stage.

It remains to be seen whether these comments will lead to further divisions within the party or if steps will be taken to address the leadership concerns.
