Gauteng Traffic Police Chief Samuel Mashaba has admitted to taking money from a police informant, contradicting his earlier statements.
Mashaba now says Itumeleng Nku is a friend, which goes against his prior claim that he was not close to Nku and that no money changed hands.
He was testifying at the Madlanga Commission about the R300 million Aeroton drug bust. The truck carrying the drugs was travelling from KwaZulu-Natal to Gauteng.
