An explosive affidavit from a Madlanga Commission investigator alleges that Crime Intelligence top official Feroz Khan handed over personal details of the VBS Mutual Bank curator to EFF leader Julius Malema.
The commission released a 700 page bundle of court papers containing an affidavit from investigator Tshepo Nyatlo.
Nyatlo also alleges that Malema may have colluded with Khan and Sayed Mohammed, an associate of cigarette trader Adriano Mazzotti, to remove Crime Intelligence Inspector General Isaac Dintwe.
According to Nyatlo, in June 2021, Khan wanted Malema to ask questions in Parliament to catch Dintwe in a lie. The request was facilitated by Mohammed. After the questions were posed, Malema allegedly sent Mohammed a case number asking for details about the complainant, who turned out to be VBS curator Anoosh Rooplal.
Nyatlo claims Khan then shared Rooplal’s name and address.
Malema has been heavily implicated in the VBS Bank scandal, in which fraud and corruption of R2 billion led to the bank’s collapse.
