Zoe Mthiyane Reveals Why She “Lost Respect” for her Baby Daddy Robert Marawa

Zoe Mthiyane, who played a character in the television series Former Generations: The Legacy, has disclosed fresh information on the dissolution of her relationship with Robert Marawa, a senior sports presenter. She has said that a significant family conflict made her lose respect for the father of her kid.

In an interview that took place on the Engineer Your Life podcast on June 2, 2026, Mthiyane freely reflected on the difficulties that finally led to the dissolution of what she referred to be a serious relationship that was on the verge of becoming union.

During the most of their time together, Mthiyane claims that she had a pleasant connection with Marawa’s family and that she was treated with kindness. On the other hand, she said that a stressful family gathering was the catalyst for everything.

The actress recalled advice her mother had given her years earlier, warning that a relationship would struggle if a man failed to protect his partner during conflicts involving his family.

Mthiyane stated that she had looked to Marawa for support and leadership during the confrontation; however, she was dissatisfied when he did not take any action.

She added that all of a sudden, the words that her mother had spoken came flooding back to her, and she felt as if she had been abandoned by someone who she had anticipated would be by her side.

Mthiyane said that the event affected her perception of Marawa and their future together in a way that was long-lasting.

She was brought up in a family where her father played a prominent role and passionately defended his wife, as the actress revealed at the time. As a result, she believes strongly in traditional relationship values and expects a partner to provide guidance and support.

“It’s not going to work,” Mthiyane said, reflecting on the fact that the relationship had ended. You will eventually lose my respect for you as a guy. Being led is something I like doing since it is how I was brought up. When my boyfriend takes the lead, I will support him in anything he desires.

In addition, she said that despite their intentions to spend the rest of their lives together, she was unable to recover from the loss of respect from the relationship.

The public’s interest in Mthiyane’s previous relationships, which included romantic partnerships with the well-known musician Lebo M and the actress Rapulana Seiphemo, has been rekindled as a result of her posts.

Due to public claims of co-parenting and financial assistance, her relationship with Marawa has previously been the subject of news. At one point in time, Lebo M made a public accusation against Marawa, stating that he did not provide for his kid with Mthiyane in a sufficient manner. These allegations sparked a substantial amount of public controversy.

The actress’s latest revelations have once again placed her personal life under scrutiny, with many South Africans discussing her views on relationships, leadership, and traditional gender roles.

Online users responded in a variety of ways to Mthiyane’s statements. While some people expressed sympathy for her predicament, others questioned if she was laying an excessive amount of responsibility on her previous relationships.

In response to what looked to be a problem that might be resolved, one user stated that couples should work through their differences of opinion rather than destroying their relationships over the matter.

Mthiyane’s prior high-profile relationships were brought up by others, which suggested that she had a record of tumultuous breakups.

The failings of her relationships were questioned by another commentator, who questioned if she was accepting sufficient responsibility for them and asked whether it was possible that everyone else was actually to blame.

In spite of the criticism, many people have come out in support of the actress, arguing that when it comes to relationships, everyone has different expectations and that the sensation of being unsupported during a difficult time may be a fair cause to walk away.
