The Johannesburg Magistrates Court heard on Wednesday that the alleged shooter in the murder of Warrick Stock, known as DJ Warras, will remain at Modderbee Prison due to threats to his life.
Twenty five year old Armindo Pacula was arrested after CCTV footage showed him at the scene of the crime in December last year. The State believes Pacula worked with the alleged mastermind and co accused, Vincent Majola, to carry out the hit.
The pair face charges of premeditated murder and conspiracy to commit murder. Pacula faces an additional charge of being in the country illegally.
Prosecutor Vincent Mochabela said the case is ready for pre trial proceedings on 18 June.
