The uMkhonto weSizwe Party says it is engaging with the anti-migrant organisation March and March.
Party spokesperson Sifiso Mahlangu said while the MK Party has not formally endorsed the movement, it believes such organisations have a reason to exist. He described undocumented migrants as one of the country’s major problems.
Mahlangu said MK Party chairman Nkosinathi Nhleko has met with the leadership of March and March and will do so again soon. He said the party recognises the work the movement does in society and acknowledges the need for it to exist.
He added that March and March’s stronghold is in KwaZulu-Natal, which is also where the MK Party has its strongest support. Mahlangu said the party has an interest in the province’s safety, security and prosperity.
He reiterated that people living in the country must be here legally, and those who are not must leave.
