A social media video from May 14 showed two women in a Tembisa home cocking pistols and aiming them playfully, sparking outrage over the danger. Gauteng police arrested two men, aged 21 and 34, on May 15, seizing the illegal guns, ammunition, and a hijacked vehicle.
The suspects face charges for firearms violations and stolen property, with court next week; police are still seeking the women and warn that guns are not toys. Acting Commissioner Puleng Dimpane stressed zero tolerance for such reckless displays under South Africa’s strict gun laws.
UPDATE: The owners of the guns seen in this video have been arrested.
