Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Teboho Mokoena has expressed strong confidence in his team’s push for the league title as they continue to compete with Orlando Pirates.
Sundowns extended their lead at the top of the Betway Premiership standings to five points after a convincing 3-0 victory over Polokwane City, although Pirates still have a game in hand. The win took Sundowns to 64 points from 27 matches, maintaining an impressive 18-game unbeaten streak, with the league trophy on display at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Sunday.
Speaking after the match, Mokoena who was named Man of the Match said the team remains focused but is fully aware of their ambitions.
He noted that while they are taking things match by match, seeing the trophy served as added motivation, making it clear that Sundowns are determined to secure the title.
Mokoena also commended the squad’s performance, especially coming just days after another away victory. He admitted the team started slowly but improved as the game progressed, ultimately earning a deserved result.
