Lerato Kganyago and Lawrence Maleka had social media talking even before they stepped on stage to host the 2026 Metro FM Music Awards.

The duo, who hosted the ceremony at the Durban International Convention Centre, shared a TikTok video hours before the show. In the clip, Maleka surprised Kganyago with flowers in her dressing room. The two shared a warm hug and exchanged a few lighthearted words.

Kganyago captioned the post, reflecting on their journey: We have come a long way, Law. From Soweto TV to big platforms together. Hard work pays off. Let us go, family.

The short moment quickly caught attention online. Some fans playfully suggested there might be more to their bond, as the first glimpse of the video appeared to show a kiss. Others simply admired how comfortable they seemed with each other.

One user wrote, I thought you two were kissing. Another questioned, was that a kiss? A TikTok user added to the speculation.

Beyond the viral hug, many agreed the pair delivered as hosts, praising how well they complemented each other throughout the night. Their performance left viewers calling for a repeat, with several suggesting they should return to host the awards again in 2027.
