At a meeting in Ntshawini Community Hall, Mkhwanazi addressed KwaDukuza and Maphumulo taxi associations after a deadly shootout near Nonoti left over 50 spent cartridges.
He condemned route disputes, security guard killings, internal violence, and hired hitmen, holding both groups accountable for any further incidents.
The decades-old feud has claimed many lives along KZN’s north coast, despite past peace efforts, and Mkhwanazi’s firm stance earned broad praise while drawing some criticism for overreach.

He addressed members of the rival factions in KwaDukuza earlier on Saturday, following renewed tensions and violence. #TaxiViolence pic.twitter.com/pLuNc1Hj1F
