KwaZulu-Natal police and private security chased three men in a white BMW linked to Upper Highway crimes, culminating in a 6:30 a.m. shootout on Spine Road opposite the Pavilion shopping centre.
One suspect died inside the car from gunshot wounds, another fell to his death while fleeing over a wall, and the driver was arrested unharmed. Police recovered two firearms from the cloned-plate rental vehicle after the suspects fired first; no officers were hurt, and the scene stayed cordoned for investigation.
