Floyd Shivambu, the leader of Afrika Mayibuye, has participated in the Limpopo group’s effort to attend the memorial of Dr Hosi Nwamitwa II.

The group, headed by provincial chair Hosi Mathebe, reached Tzaneen on Saturday morning to show their final tributes to the esteemed traditional chief. The memorial service is taking place in the Mopani District, where Dr Hosi Nwamitwa II was a valued guardian of cultural heritage and community improvement.

Shivambu referred to Dr Hosi Nwamitwa II as a figure of unity whose influence went beyond traditional leadership. “We are here to respect a leader who devoted his life to upholding our customs and advancing his community. His impact on the social and cultural scene of Limpopo will always be remembered,” he stated.

Hosi Mathebe mentioned that the attendance of the group illustrates the movement’s dedication to enhancing relationships with traditional leadership throughout the province. He remarked that Dr Hosi Nwamitwa II was instrumental in promoting conversations between local leaders and larger civil society groups.

Many community members, political figures, and traditional leaders from all over Limpopo came together in large crowds to say their goodbyes. The event included cultural displays and tributes honoring the life and contributions of the deceased Hosi.

Afrika Mayibuye offered its sympathies to the Nwamitwa royal family and the larger Tzaneen community, promising ongoing assistance during this time of sorrow.
