Police have seized a vehicle found at the residence of the son of former President Robert Mugabe following what authorities described as suspicious circumstances during a second visit to the property.

According to preliminary information, officers returned to the residence when they observed a vehicle attempting to leave the premises. The car reportedly had three occupants inside at the time, including a domestic helper. Police intervened as the vehicle was exiting and proceeded to stop and inspect it.

Authorities confirmed that the vehicle was fitted with blue lights and a siren — equipment typically reserved for authorized emergency and law enforcement vehicles. The installation and use of such equipment without proper authorization is illegal under road traffic regulations. Police indicated that the presence of these features raised immediate concerns, prompting the seizure of the car for further investigation.

It remains unclear who owns the vehicle or whether any of the occupants will face charges related to the alleged unlawful installation and use of emergency signaling equipment. Law enforcement officials have not yet disclosed whether additional offences are being investigated.

The seizure forms part of an ongoing inquiry, and police have stated that further details will be released once initial assessments and legal reviews are complete. Authorities emphasized that unauthorized use of blue lights and sirens is considered a serious violation, as it can endanger public safety and undermine legitimate emergency operations.

Witnesses reported that police arrived just as the vehicle was pulling away from the property, leading to a brief interaction before officers took control of the situation. No injuries were reported during the incident.

The development has attracted public attention due to the high-profile nature of the property involved. However, police have stressed that investigations are conducted without regard to status or political connections, and that all individuals are subject to the same legal standards.

As inquiries continue, officials are expected to determine whether the vehicle was being unlawfully operated and whether any additional legal steps will be taken against those involved.
