One of the most well-known podcasters in the South African music scene, Thakgi, recently disseminated some fascinating information regarding the most prominent amapiano musicians. According to him, DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small have not left the studio despite the fact that they have each received substantial advances over 22 million rand.

As far as Thakgi is concerned, these substantial sums originated from music deals, which were most likely loans from record labels or companies. An advance is a sum of money that is paid to artists in advance, typically for the purpose of producing new songs or albums. The arrangement is comparable to a loan secured against future earnings from royalties, streams, and sales.

Thakgi informed the audience that ever since they were given the money, the two celebrities had been confined to the studio. He feels that they are putting the money into the purchase of better equipment so that they may concentrate entirely on making music without being concerned about money. This is something that a lot of producers do when they get large payments; they put a lot of effort into their job and put in a lot of hours to create new songs.

It is also possible, according to Thakgi, that Kelvin Momo, another prominent figure in the amapiano community, has made a significant advance as well. Despite the fact that he did not provide any specifics or evidence, he believes that Kelvin is pursuing a similar path.

In the world of amapiano, DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small are considered to be the monarchs. They have collaborated on a numerous number of successful projects and singles. As a result of all this time spent in the studio, their fans are eagerly anticipating the release of new music.

Large developments in the music industry can be beneficial to musicians’ development, but they also bring with them the expectation that they will produce successful projects. The comments made by Thakgi have stirred up discussion among fans on the manner in which these musicians are wasting their time and money.
