A 45-year-old Nigerian national, Emeka Clement Uzor, was fatally shot while seated in his parked car at a petrol station in Windsor East, Randburg, on Sunday afternoon.

The incident occurred during filming involving a production crew linked to the former anti-drug television show *Sizok’thola*, which previously featured host and current ActionSA mayoral candidate Xolani Khumalo.

Police spokesperson Captain Tintswalo Sibeko said a preliminary investigation indicates shots were fired, allegedly by security personnel connected to the production team. Uzor sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

The Nigerian Union South Africa (NUSA) stated that Uzor was shot more than 12 times and called for a transparent and impartial investigation. The union also raised concerns about a similar case from April 2023, involving another Nigerian national, Silas Ani, who disappeared after an encounter with the same program’s crew.

Police have opened an investigation into Sunday’s shooting. No arrests have been announced at this stage.
