A relative of Dr. Nandipha Magudumana has been arrested along with two others for allegedly assaulting a man they accused of attempted robbery.
The incident occurred in Randburg in the early hours of Saturday, February 7, 2026. The charge was later upgraded to attempted murder due to the severity of the victim’s injuries. The victim remains hospitalized in critical condition.
The arrested family member’s identity has not been officially released. Nandipha Magudumana is currently awaiting trial for her alleged role in the Thabo Bester prison escape.
Police spokesperson Captain Tintswalo Sibeko confirmed the arrests, stating that the three suspects will appear in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday, February 9, 2026.
