Former Ukhozi FM presenter and radio DJ, Mandla “Njinji” Magwaza, will be laid to rest on Saturday, January 31, 2026, in Inanda, Durban.

Magwaza, originally from Jozini in northern KwaZulu-Natal, passed away last Saturday at the age of 41 following a short illness.

He spent 16 years at Ukhozi FM as a producer, voice-over artist, and presenter before leaving the SABC in 2024.

Family, friends, and former colleagues remember him as a person with a warm and humorous personality.

A memorial service was held in his honor at the SABC Studios in Durban on Thursday. Magwaza’s passing follows the recent losses of former colleague Zanele Mbokazi, who died in 2024 after a battle with lung cancer, and voice-over artist Martin Ziqubu, who passed away last year.

Ukhozi FM paid tribute to Magwaza by inviting his former colleagues, including Linda Sibiya, to a special afternoon broadcast earlier this week.

The funeral service will begin at 10:00 AM at Tshanyana Primary School in Inanda.
