Mamelodi Sundowns Six Senior Players Linked With Exits

It has been claimed that Mamelodi Sundowns are making preparations for a big roster makeover as the club enters what is being characterised as a new era at Chloorkop. Over the next six months, as many as six senior players will be facing uncertain futures. Brayan Leon, Monnapule Saleng, and Khulumane Ndamane are some of the new players that Masandawana want to bring into the team as part of their long-term strategy. Masandawana has reportedly already indicated that they intend to renew the roster.

As the transfer window for January continues to unfold, Sundowns anticipates making additional changes as they seek to strike a balance between the youthful exuberance and the experience of their players. Following the departure of Mosa Lebusa, who had been a member of Stellenbosch FC for seven years and had achieved a great deal of success there, the transition phase became more apparent. Over the course of his career with Sundowns, the versatile defender made over 207 appearances and was an important figure during one of the most dominant eras in the historical record of the club.

His departure appears to be the first of several, and there are reports that imply that further players with more experience may soon follow in his footsteps. It has been reported by Soccer Laduma that Sundowns are currently evaluating the futures of a number of senior players whose contracts or roles may no longer be compatible with the constantly altering vision of the club. A number of players, including Denis Onyango, Mothobi Mvala, Themba Zwane, Thapelo Morena, and Sphelele Mkhulise, have been mentioned in connection with potential departures from the club.

Additionally, Khuliso Mudau is apparently open to perhaps leaving the club. According to the journal, Sundowns went through a similar mass exodus at the conclusion of the last season, and there is a significant probability that history may repeat itself once the current campaign comes to a close. As part of their strategy to achieve sustainable success both within the country and on the continent, club authorities are anticipated to complete the finalisation of their exit list within the next few months.

The relocation of Lebusa to Stellenbosch is illustrative of the shifting objectives of Sundowns University. In the present moment, the former defender for Cape Town Spurs has returned to the Western Cape, where he will be concentrating his efforts on assisting Stellies in avoiding relegation. As Sundowns continues to develop, the upcoming months indicate that they will be decisive, with the departure of notable players having the ability to shape the next chapter of the club’s history.
