New Big Brother Mzansi Season 6 housemate Llano has opened up about her life and identity as a trans woman, aiming to foster greater understanding and representation.
The 23-year-old, whose real name is Langalihle Gumede, said one common misunderstanding is how people address her after learning she is trans. “If I come to you as Llano without any confirmation of who I am, you can just address me as she,” she explained.
Llano shared that her family dressed and treated her as a girl from childhood, which helped shape her self-perception. She recalled challenges growing up with a twin brother, including avoiding him at school to not embarrass him, even if it meant going hungry.
She decided to join Big Brother Mzansi to show that trans people exist and deserve visibility. “I would love someone to understand me in the sense that there are people like us and we exist,” she said.
Her story is already sparking conversations about identity and acceptance as the season unfolds.
