Ukhozi FM has responded to listener concerns over a technical issue affecting its annual Ingoma Ehlukanisa Unyaka (Song of the Year) campaign.

Some listeners reported that automated SMS confirmations did not always match the song they voted for, raising doubts about vote accuracy. The station confirmed there was a problem with the confirmation message system but assured the public it did not affect the actual recording or allocation of votes.

In a statement, Ukhozi FM said the glitch has been fixed and additional monitoring measures have been implemented. The station emphasized its commitment to the integrity of the listener-driven competition and noted an independent auditor has been verifying voting data since the campaign began.

The countdown has now narrowed to the top 10 songs. The winning track will be played to welcome listeners into the new year.
