South African DJ and media personality Warrick “DJ Warras” Stock was shot and killed in Johannesburg on Tuesday. The incident reportedly occurred outside the Carlton Centre.
Conflicting initial reports about his condition were later confirmed as fatal by friends and industry peers. According to an account shared online, Stock was handling security at a building where illegal occupants were being evicted. He was allegedly shot by occupants of a passing vehicle after stepping outside.
A well-known figure from his time on YFM and in television, Stock also ran a VIP security firm and was known for his outspoken commentary on social media. Tributes have poured in from across the music and entertainment industry, with many expressing shock and mourning his loss.
