The President of uMkhonto weSizwe, H.E. Jacob Zuma, made a notable appearance at Ingoma kaMK in Verulam, Emahlathini, where his arrival drew widespread attention and renewed energy among supporters. His participation in the cultural and political gathering was amplified by the presence of National Organiser Alek Nkuna, Comrade Duduzile Sambudla-Zuma, and Youth League President Qiniso Cibane, each adding their own weight to the occasion.

Their collective attendance was viewed as a demonstration of internal cohesion, particularly at a time when the movement continues to position itself as a force rooted in grassroots mobilisation. Observers described the atmosphere as charged with symbolism, as the leaders engaged with community members and reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to its traditional support base. Many attendees interpreted their presence as a deliberate statement of solidarity, highlighting what was described as “strength, unity, and renewed revolutionary spirit” that echoed throughout the gathering.

Much of the public conversation following the event, however, centred around Duduzile Sambudla-Zuma. Her appearance at Ingoma kaMK sparked reactions online, especially given that it came only days after her resignation as a Member of Parliament. Videos circulating from the event showed her dancing with confidence and enthusiasm, prompting mixed reactions across social platforms. This gave rise to the widely shared sentiment: “She Is Not Even Affected” as South Africans reacted to how “Duduzile Was Seen Happily Dancing Days After Resigning As MP.”

While some saw her joyful display as a sign of resilience and unwavering loyalty to the movement, others interpreted it as an indication that her departure from Parliament had little personal impact. Regardless of perspective, the moment added a layer of public intrigue to the day’s happenings, further elevating attention on the Ingoma gathering.

For Zuma and the leadership present, the event served its purpose—reinforcing visibility, strengthening ties with supporters, and projecting continuity within the movement. The day closed with a clear message from those in attendance: the bond between leadership and the people remains, in their view, unbroken and central to MK’s identity.
