“She’s jealous of Duduzile Zuma” Zuma-Mncube slammed after accusing her sister of trafficking

Jacob Zuma’s Daughter Files Case Against Sister Over Men Trapped in Ukraine War

A fierce public reaction erupted within minutes of the news breaking, with one blunt comment capturing the mood: “She’s jealous of Duduzile Zuma.” That remark, echoed across social platforms, set the tone for a debate that has now collided with a serious criminal case involving members of one of South Africa’s most politically recognisable families.

Nkosazana Bonganini Zuma-Mncube, daughter of former President Jacob Zuma, has filed a criminal complaint accusing her sister, Duduzile Zuma Sambudla, along with Ms Siphokazi Xuma and Mr Blessing Khoza, of orchestrating the alleged trafficking of 17 South African men to Russia to fight in the Ukraine war. The case was officially registered at the Sandton Police Station on November 22, 2025.

In her affidavit, Zuma-Mncube claims the three individuals played “key roles” in a scheme where the men were “lured to Russia under false pretences and handed to a Russian mercenary group to fight war… without their knowledge or consent.” Her allegations point to violations of the Prevention and Combating of Trafficking in Persons Act, the Regulation of Foreign Military Assistance Act, and common law fraud.

The account paints a disturbing picture of unsuspecting South Africans being funnelled into a foreign battleground. Eight of the affected men are from Zuma-Mncube’s own extended family, intensifying the emotional and political dimensions of the case. The men are reportedly stranded in active conflict zones and appealing for urgent government intervention.

Zuma-Mncube has called on authorities to “expedite all diplomatic efforts” to secure their safe return. She also urged South Africans to remain vigilant about enticing opportunities abroad, “especially those involving travel to conflict zones,” warning that deception can easily disguise itself as opportunity.

But while the gravity of the allegations is significant, public discourse has been dominated by suspicion and personal attacks. Comments such as “Disgraceful, why turn on her. Jealous family members can be dangerous” and “It’s Sunday, I’m lazy to read all that bull.. She is jealous of Dudu being given more attention than her, plus Dudu is more beautiful than her” show how deeply the controversy has been overshadowed by perceptions of internal family rivalry.

The South African Police Service has confirmed receiving the case, marking the beginning of what could become a complex legal and diplomatic process. For now, beneath the noise of online speculation, the fate of 17 South African men trapped in a war they never consented to fight remains the most urgent concern.
