Alleged tenderpreneur Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala is scheduled to testify before Parliament’s ad hoc committee on Tuesday, 25 November 2025. The hearing will take place at the Kgoši Mampuru Correctional Centre in Tshwane, where Matlala is currently detained.

Matlala, who is facing charges including attempted murder, is a central figure in the committee’s investigation into allegations of criminal influence within the justice system. His testimony is expected to address claims that he made payments to suspended Police Minister Senzo Mchunu and other officials.

The committee stated that holding the session at the correctional facility was decided to ensure the safety and security of all involved. The investigation follows allegations by KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi about a syndicate’s infiltration of law enforcement institutions.
