The country’s fight against corruption has been shaken by the abduction of Matthews Sesoko, the Head of Investigations and Operations at the Investigating Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC), a key arm of the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA).
Sesoko was kidnapped on Friday night while driving near Midrand and later abandoned and assaulted in the Rabie Ridge area. His state-issued laptop and cellphone believed to contain sensitive case data were stolen. Police have launched an urgent investigation.
